Ralf Böcker a reedman from Hamburg Germany was a very successful leader of several bands playing major festivals for decades in Europe. Ralf recently settled in the SF Bay Area and is rapidly becoming active in the local jazz scene. He is a devotee of Sidney Bechet a legendary figure in classic jazz. Join us for an concert of soul-touching music written and played by Bechet while dancing on the huge dance floor.
Backing Ralf is a band of SF Bay Area all-stars professional musicians known for their devotion to jazz some of who teach at area colleges and universities.

Debra from GottaSwing, D.C.area: Something really special happened at our dance in the Spanish Ballroom in October 2022. The band was Craig Gildner and the Ivy City Six, and Craig invited a visiting musician onto the stage to sit in for a few songs. What happened next blew our minds as Ralf Böcker joined in on saxophone, and we knew we had to get him back onstage with a band of his own. Ralf and band made their Gottaswing debut at the Spanish Ballroom in December 2023, and we wanted to get him back as soon as we could. Check him out!
